Jazz Fest is officially underway and we had an amazing time celebrating music, art, and culture from our spot in the Peace Garden.

The Magical Mobile Art Cart is a hit and doing its job of delivering the joy of making and gardening to the public. Today we set up tables and chairs to facilitate planting and weaving activities with young festival attendees. We had families from our Budding Artists program pay us a visit and made new friends with young artists and their families throughout the morning.

Our volunteers were thrilled to be invited to create and many hands collaborated on the earth loom throughout the event.

It was a delight to see a group of talented art students on a field trip with their families and the group was eager to learn how to make Gods Eyes.

We also planted seeds in paper pots for children to take home at the end of the festival.

Working in the Peace Garden was lovely as it wasn’t too crowded and everyone who passed through admired the area.

When not teaching Lissie acted as a demonstration artist and illustrated traditional basket weaving techniques to people passing by.
We were thrilled with how positive we made the space and look forward to meeting new friends throughout the two weekend festival.
