First Residency is a Wrap!

Anna K. Lemnitzer

The Incubator has wrapped up our inaugural Artist-in-Residency for the year and I’m pleased to report; it was as smashing success!

Anna K. Lemnitzer, the NOLA Artist Incubator 2022 Artist-in-Residency recipient, completely transformed the west side of the garden with her installation. There are additional walkways at the garden and the “room” she created by her sculpture makes a dramatic aesthetic impression in the surrounding environment.

Her living wall, which she named, “Galvez Garden Community Shrine” is striking and notably adds visual intrigue from all perspectives in the new public art installation.

Anna spent one week with us at the Incubator creating her sculpture from recycled materials. It was a delight to watch her work, and the finished product is truly a unique work of art. We are thrilled she had the chance to experiment with living plants over the course of her residency and add this accomplished work to her already impressive collection.

We will keep you posted on how it continues to evolve and grow on the site and through our Instagram.
