Cyanotypes on Stones with AIR, Mira Wolf

This spring, we are thrilled to welcome Mira Wolf as our Artist-in-Resident. Known for their sustainable approach to making art with nature, Mira has quickly made a mark with their first workshop, “Creating Cyanotypes on Stones,” held at Galvez Garden.

From the moment participants arrived, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement and curiosity. Mira’s workshop was designed to blend art with the natural beauty surrounding the garden, inviting attendees to explore the photographic technique of cyanotype. This process, which produces stunning blue images through sunlight exposure, was a perfect fit for a workshops at the garden. And the weather could not have been nicer!

Mira’s hands-on approach empowered participants, guiding them through each step of creating their own unique cyanotypes. Participants were encouraged to explore the garden as they gathered plants and creatively experimented with different shapes and materials. The workshop not only provided a unique artistic experience but also fostered a sense of community as participants shared ideas and inspiration.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing delight in learning a new skill while connecting with nature and fellow art enthusiasts. Mira’s enthusiasm and expertise shone through, making the workshop a memorable start to their residency.

As we look ahead, we are excited to see what else Mira Wolf will bring to our community. Stay tuned for more workshops and events that will continue to inspire creativity and connection in the heart of Galvez Garden. Sign up below to create cement garden orbs with us next Sunday!
