CALL FOR PROPOSALS:

Seeking Artists, Graduate Students, & Professors for our Spring Programming

The NOLA Artist Incubator is pleased to announce our Call for Proposals for our Spring Programming. We are seeking artists, graduate students and professors to deliver engaging workshops at our community garden in 2025. Workshops must be art based and on the topic of “nature”. This can be interpreted in many different ways. At least one workshop should be designed for children. Selected presenter(s) will present a total of four (4) workshops that are one (1) hour each. Workshops will be held in the spring at Galvez Garden.

Presenters will be compensated with $1000.

DETAILS:
•All workshops to be held at Galvez Garden. Must examine an art specific topic. This is open to interpretation.

•Should be based on the theme of “nature”. This is open to interpretation. We encourage presenters to address sustainability and hope they are inspired by the principles demonstrated at Galvez Garden and or other organizations addressing sustainability in an urban setting. We welcome and encourage visiting the garden. The NOLA Artist Incubator is particularly concerned with shedding light to issues effecting New Orleans and our shrinking coastline, including but not limited to: -Income and racial climate inequality;-loss of coastal wetlands; -flooding;-subsidence—pollution; -lack of tree canopy, mass of non-permeable surfaces, and the urban heat island effect;-food sovereignty—diversion of waste from our landfills; -the need for less lawns and more native plants;-benefits of pollinators; etc…Again, we are open to interpretation and welcome all ideas for serious consideration.

•1 hour workshops; 4 total; 1 workshop must be designed for children.
