S.E.A.D. Project at NOLA Nature School Completed on Earth Day

Behind the scenes our Sustainable Environmental Art Delivery has been underway at NOLA Nature School. We’re happy to report that the project was completed with our students on Earth Day!

Planting the new garden bed with young learners on Earth Day

After having installed the new 3’ x 11’ raised garden bed, the PVC Pipe Musical Wall, and the Megaphone, all the new sensory garden needed was plants.

We brought all the plants to grow a polyculture garden, designed to grow food, beneficial herbaceous plants, and pollinator plants to increase biodiversity on site. The children painted rocks to create labels for their new garden.

The newly installed sensory garden was designed in collaboration with the staff to meet the needs of NOLA Nature School. Longevity was achieved by using pressure treated wood to ensure that the raised bed will produce for years to come. The trellises will add shade, privacy, and corridors for children to explore while supporting the climbing plants as they grow. The new musical and sound enhancing features add activities to the outdoor classroom.

We had so much fun creating this outdoor learning environment for the school and the children and staff love the new space!
