En Plein Air Collection on Display

The NOLA Artist Incubator is pleased to announce that the opening of En Plein Air: Observations and Perspectives of Nature in New Orleans was a tremendous success. On Saturday December 16th artists, families, and members of the community gathered to appreciate the work created at Art in Park, a public art project of the Incubator produced in September.

The park rangers contributed to the excitement by answering questions about the park’s history and wildlife on site. The display of depictions of nature, accompanied by artifacts collected around the forested area, really drew attention to the importance of this location within our community. We’re grateful for the Audubon’s efforts and generosity towards this unique public art project.

The collection will be on display from December 16th 2023 through January 13th 2024 at the Audubon Louisiana Nature Center. The exhibition is free and open to the public from 10:00-2:00 on Thursdays and Saturdays in the Interpretation Center on site at 11000 Lake Forest Drive.

The show is intended to travel to different parishes within the region to promote conversations about conservation in our urban environment. Details regarding the next location for the exhibition will be announced in the start of the new year.
