On Saturday the City of New Orleans recognized our organization at the annual Neighborhood Summit as Neighborhood Enrichment Grant Recipients!

As awardees the NOLA Artist Incubator is charged with creating a Green Infrastructure and Beautification Initiative in the community. Our project is aimed at making improvements along St. Roch Avenue. Specifically we plan to focus on the St. Roch Avenue at North Johnson, and St. Roch Avenue and Florida Avenue intersections. We look forward to beautifying these areas to improve the appearance of the existing neutral ground. Already lined with mature oak trees, we plan to tend to the neutral ground by adding mulch around the trees and planting small gardens around “Welcome to St. Roch” signage. We also aim to incorporate green infrastructure by utilizing rain catchment systems on a roof installation to assist with watering the plants and providing a shaded area on the corridor.
