Art in the Park a Smashing Success!

2023 Art in the Park Cohort

Presenting our phenomenal cohort of artists! On Saturday September 16th these ten Louisiana Based Artists took over the Audubon for a day of public art and appreciation of our natural surroundings.

The day started with all of our artists arriving just as the Audubon Louisiana Nature Center opened to sign in and have coffee and breakfast. All works were stamped, signed, and dated for authenticity.

After signing releases and mingling, Lissie Stewart, Executive Director of the NOLA Artist Incubator gave a brief statement expressing the organization’s gratitude and appreciation for all participants. She emphasized the objectives of the collection and encouraged all artists to shine a positive light on the center as they worked.

At 9:27 a group photograph of as taken and by 9:30 all artists were off to scout out the perfect spot to paint.

With 86 acres to explore it was quite the adventure for artists and an unforgettable experience for visitors .

Some artists stayed on the trails while others trekked deeper into the forest for the perfect spot.

Join us in celebrating these incredibly talented artists!
