Growing Food for the Community: New Farm Stand Installed at the Galvez Garden

Pleased to announce the new farm stand has been installed at the Galvez Garden! In anticipation of upcoming harvests, we recently added the farm stand for fresh produce to be shared with anyone and everyone who would like it.

This morning we picked fresh spinach, lettuce, herbs, tomatoes, and peppers and added them to the farm stand.

By this afternoon it was already being used by the neighbors.

We plan to fill the farm stand whenever there is fresh food available. It’s located within the garden, near the entrance by our new sign.

We added some tropical plants and echinacea to the U-shaped bed, where we are attempting to grow watermelon from seed.

We also put some more herbs and peppers into other beds that had room, practicing rotational gardening. Everything looks lovely in the newest area of the space!

We look forward to sharing future harvests with the community and encourage visitors to take what what you need from the new farm stand.

This project is made possible with support from United States Department of Agriculture – Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and Community Resources Connection (CRC), Inc.
